I typically post about projects that I’ve completed for clients, but today I am sharing with you pictures of the addition we added onto our home. As most of you know, projects always take longer than expected and for designers we’re no exception! However, the final result is better than I anticipated and I am so glad it’s finally complete (with the exception of adding baseboards and a transition).
Here is what it looked like before- just a small deck that we rarely used due to a few things…. firstly, being that our yard floods from the creek and every time we try to grow grass, flood waters pour in- it’s so deep I swear I’ve seen people Kayaking in my backyard:) Secondly, I have very bad year round allergies and just building a screened in porch didn’t make a whole of sense. So needless to say, this small project turned into a complete addition adding about 370 sq ft of living space to the home. Not to mention it completely changed the feel of the downstairs all together.
Here are a few pictures of the inside before:
The opening on the left used to be our slider leading outside, the large opening was where the 2 windows and useless door used to be:)
